On The Lookout ! The Uboat War by Chris Collingwood
A new stunning image for the discerning collector of this most important campaign during World War II.
As the war raged at sea the Uboats began to sink an increasing number of the Allied supply ships making the perilous crossing of the Atlantic to Great Britain. As Churchill remarked only one thing frightened him during the war against Nazi Germany and it was the Uboat peril!
The scene shows a Uboat Watch man keeping a lookout for the submarines next potential victim. As the war progressed however and the tide turned in the Allies favour, with the arrival of long range escort aircraft and increasing the numbers of escort ships this task became more a matter of self preservation.
